Love all the contributions so far, particularly Djibouti, pusillanimous and Guam. 'Good lord there's some terrible Guam in Kissimmee! Balthazar

I like Guam. I have never been there - not sure I want to go anytime soon. I just like saying it. Guam. And unlike bollocks you can exclaim it just about anywhere. Guam! It sounds like a sticky substance to me. As in, "What's that on your knickers?" ... "I'm not sure but I think it's Guam." Bitchin' article, Balthazar. Cheers.

Djibouti -- how marvelously musical, mysterious and - well, a bit silly, all wrapped up in one word! I'd go there in a heartbeat.

Parsimony - the ultra of frugality... and it pops off the tongue and slides the rest of the way, what with the central "s" and all...

Zarathustra -- as is "Thus Spoke"... need I say more? Really!

Mellifluous -- why? Because it is exactly what it means!

Succubus/Incubus -- if only I could keep them straight. But aren't they wonderful, even if dealing dastardly deeds to one's love life?

Balderdash -- because I wish I could say it with a straight face in an appropriate situation (I may have to adopt "Bollocks!" instead... sigh...)

Rappahannock -- Yes, Virginia (and no, I don't know for sure about that Santa Claus thing...)

Kissimmee, Florida... One lovely "kiss"...

Pusillanimous - oh, thou strong word meaning weak and wimpy! What? How could this happen? (One could go Shakespearean and consider "puling", I suppose, but that would lead me to a HUGE trove of Shakespearean words...)

And on that note -- I've said enough!

I love Thai people and like reading material from good writers whom provide me clarity about them ... and us. Thank-you, Christopher for doing what you do. I suspect you couldn't stop if you wanted to.

Bill, you are a bit late to the Cake's/Bull dog party. But better late than never. Cake's has confirmed that his books are all best sellers in Nigeria, and occasionally a title or two can be found as attachments to emails from Nigeria inviting the receiver to split the sizable bank accounts of a deceased Cake's fan.

Ever credulous, after reading this first paragraph I slammed "Cakes Copeland" into Amazon search with giddy anticipation of ordering an armload of S.E.A. cozy mysteries.
Thanks a bunch, Christopher..you will now forever have a slight whiff of an internet Nigerian Finance Minister about you, in my mind.

Colin, Let's hope they run the photo of you debating political theory with your hounds on the beach. A bloated, washed up sea urchin nicely framed in the foreground.

Shrimp: stay tuned for a further report this Friday.

Guenther: Thailand is in transition. New values, forms, and attitudes are emerging. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks.

Kevin: Thanks for sharing the joys of having a dog as part of the family.
